Lucky us! The Impressions in Jazz Orchestra has invited us to team up with
them for a concert. The IJO and Capital Vox perform selections from the
three sacred concerts hailed by Ellington as “the most important thing
I've ever done or am ever likely to do.” Incorporating elements
of classical, jazz and gospel music, this concert presentation will bring
together almost fifty artists for an Ottawa premiere that should not be

Alcorn-David Band serves up grooving blues and rock. Proceeds to purchase sound
equipment to enable Capital Vox to perform outreach concerts for populations who
cannot attend concerts, as well as establish a bursary for a student who
is studying vocal jazz at the post-secondary level.

harmony, romance, nature's beauty. Music by Count Basie, Irving Berlin, Hoagy
Carmichael, Bill Evans, Thelonious Monk, Oscar Peterson, Paul Simon, and others.
Capital Vox will present the world premiere of "Four Poems by Tony Cosier". Mr.
Cosier is a poet residing in Ottawa. The music of Ottawa composers Megan Jerome
and Elise Letourneau will also be featured. Accompanied by Alcorn Bedner
Townsend, plus special guests saxophonist Jason Scott, violinist Gillian
Gresham, and pianist Mark Ferguson.

a mass choir of singers from All Saints' Westboro, First United Church,
Capital Vox, and Big Soul Project; as well as guitarist Tim Bedner,
bassist Mark Alcorn, and drummer Marilee Townsend for a morning of ministry and
